Kiera Layne is a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. After realizing that she wanted a career that aligned more fully with her beliefs and interests, she found Traditional Chinese Medicine. Fun fact, she had never had acupuncture before starting her program! However, the pull towards it was still very much there. She has gotten lots of acupuncture since, and each session makes her feel more grateful that she chose to help others discover its benefits.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship-Management with a minor in Biology from Pace University in NYC. She earned her Doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Southern California University of Health Sciences with a concentration in Healthy Aging. She completed her capstone presentation on the use of acupuncture and herbal remedies for Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Kiera believes that anyone can benefit from acupuncture and herbal remedies, but has a particular focus on patients with menstrual disorders and autoimmune conditions. She finds that patients with autoimmune conditions have a history of giving a lot to those around them without receiving the same care back. She aims to provide a safe and comfortable space for these patients to connect inward and feel taken care of.

Coming from New York, her favorite part of living in Southern California are all the hikes available. She tries to get a hike in as often as possible, while listening to her favorite wellness and science podcasts. She is always interested in current research as it pertains to acupuncture and herbal remedies, and aims to incorporate that knowledge into better serving her patients.

Krystal is a fun-loving, caring, and devoted practitioner who discovered her calling in Chinese medicine at a young age. Krystal sought assistance from Eastern medicine after being diagnosed with a digestive autoimmune disease, finding that medications were not alleviating her condition. After a series of acupuncture sessions, her symptoms went into remission, and she knew that she had to join this incredible field of medicine and pass on the healing that she had received.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from California State University, Long Beach, and her Master of Science in Chinese Medicine from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College of Berkeley. Her prior positions include being an herbalist, sports acupuncturist and registered behavioral therapist. Krystal is particularly interested in orthopedic injuries, digestive health, and stress management, but she has expertise in treating a wide range of conditions. She employs a variety of acupuncture methods and modalities to tailor each treatment to the unique needs of her patients.

Her guiding philosophy is that the body knows exactly how to heal itself and only requires a gentle reminder on how to get back in balance. She chooses to pay close attention to what the body is communicating and continuously adjust treatment accordingly.

When Krystal is not at the clinic she can be found relaxing at the beach, playing volleyball, spending time at church and with family, or exploring all the yummy foodie places Los Angeles has to offer.
